I am running an older sears boat with the original motor still on it. A Sears 45 hp model# 574.59783 Until recently I have had no problems. I have started the enine and it seems to be running fine until I noticed the engine was over heating and water was not exiting the engine. So I assume The water pump shall be the problem but yet I am unsure of how this works or where to find it. With the engine being so old I am unable to locate any information on how to address the problem on the net. I am sorry if this message seem incomplete but the boat has been mine for only 3 years. If anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sears engine

Im Just guessing but by the serial number the motor may be made by West Bend or Chrysler(west
Bend was purchased by Chrysler.)Fairwinds Marina Is a Chrysler/Force Dealer.www.fairwindsmarina.com/chryslerpage .
There may be a manual available at the top of
page at the manual tab. Also Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble etc. Good luck, Spike

Re: Sears engine

That is the standard Sears model # scheme. All merchandise is ***.******xx. The best place to go to for advise is your local Sears service shop. Many cities have consolidated the small engine techs to one location. You are best off going to that location so you can talk directly to the small engine techs themselves. Talking to the guys at the service desk is worthless. I worked for Sears a few years ago, but never worked on a motor your size. Any outboard repair shop will know as well, you may still have to visit Sears for the parts.
