Serial # on a Force 85h.p.

Hello, I am new to this board and have already seen lots of helpful information, but I have a question. This is one that I saw answered in the archieves but that was from two years ago so I figured to ask it again just in case someone may have an answer. <br /><br />I recently got a 1989 Bayliner Capri with a Force 85h.p. and I need help locating the serial # on the motor so that I can get insurance. <br /><br />Thanks for the responses.<br /><br />Bryan R.

The only place I am aware that the serial number appears, is on the id tag. The tag is/was located on the port side transom bracket. The tag should say "US Marine, model number, serial number, rpm range, and hp.
