Spark Plugs for 85 hp Force

I have a 1986 Force 85 hp engine. It tends to start hard. The plugs appear to be old so I was going to replace. Can I use Champion L78V to replace the L18Vs? Any other suggestions to make it start better? Thank You

I recomend NGK spark plugs. BUHW is what I use in a 98 120 force.I'm sure your plugs would be different but the NGK's are a good glow plug that rarely ever foul.
