I'm looking at a Lund Rebel 1475 SS, what kind of speed can I get out of it with a 30hp Merc? Boat is about 675lb, and motor is about 175lb.

Re: Speed of boat?

Since no one else has answered your question, I'll take a stab.

My previous experience with the 15 footer and a 50 horse yielded 35-37 mph. Since this is a shorter and narrower boat and HP is less, I would make an educated guess of 33-35 mph if it is propped right.... Obviously to fine tune it make sure it is at peak RPM @ WOT and make sure your Merc's height is perfect to get the most out of this boat....

BTW, if it is one of the newer Tohatsu built Mercurys, that 30 will perform extremely well..... You will be pleased with that combination.

Re: Speed of boat?

Thanks for the reply, I was off on the boat weight. It is about 545 and not 675. So that should help. Shouldn't the Boat dealer take care of all that when I buy the boat from him?

If it was rigged at the factory, it should be close but not necessarily perfect. If the dealer is doing the rigging, sometimes the props require some trial and error.... It depends on their level of experience and how many of that particular boat/ motor combination that they have rigged.
