My chevy 350 5.7 naturally aspirated engine siezed in a hydrolock situation. I've fixed that for now however the starter clunked badly when trying to start it.
Now the starter will engage briefly then dis-engage and spin. The boat will eventually start if the starter can catch enough teeth to turn it a couple of times.
This happened several years ago and I had to have the flywheel and starter replaced.
Question:
Is it possible to work on the teeth (file them or somesuch)pm the flywheel to let a new starter bendix engage or do I have to R&R the entire engine to fix this?
