I have a volvo penta 4.3 gl withsx outdrive. I have I very slight vibration when Turning while under a load I can feel in the steering I am familiar with mercrusier outdrives but not volvo penta was going to pull drive and check u joints is the procedure for pulling drive similar to merc. What else should I inspect?

It is basically the same yes. Go to the Volvo Penta stickies and download #17.

You'll want to check the u-joints for smoothness and no slack. Also check the gimbal bearing for the same thing. While there, grease both of those and the shaft splines, and check the alignment. When were the bellows last changed? If more than several years, it wouldn't hurt to change them while you are in there. The drive should be pulled every year to check all of these things.

Are you turning as far as possible when you feel the vibration? Some vibration when completely turned under load is normal, as it is a little hard on the u-joints and bearing in that configuration.

I feel vibration when almost at full turn. I feel like this is probably normal but I bought the boat used this year I have all the repair orderers from the previous owner but none show the out drive had ever been removed.
