Waterpump HELP

Hey y'all. I am running in to roadblocks and hoping to get some help. I have a 2000 Volvo Penta 5.0GL with a leaky water pump. Pretty sure its coming from the weep holes. Every rebuild kit I find has a snap ring. My water pump does not. The only info I can provide is my engine model# which is 3869056 and the only markings on the water pump are on the pulley. It is stamped with 38582-. I want to make sure I get the correct kit. Any info would help. Thanks.

I would post a pic of your water pump possible it may have been changed out with a different pump if the factory kit doesnt work ...

Which pump?

the circulating pump which is a GM marine pump

or the raw water pump which is a Johnson pump.
look up F5B-9 or F6B-9 pump

The snap ring holds the bearing in place and is not really visible unless the pump has been removed, have you removed the pump from the block? I bet your pump has or should have one.

My Pump on a 1999 5.0 Gi does not have the snap ring, If you check the part numbers you will find that they are all the same for that era. Do a search and you will find the details of the bearings and the shaft seal on this site. It is an easy job to do, there are even youtube videos with instructions.
