Weight/trim issue in 18' bow rider

Hi all. I have a 1997 18' Rinker bowrider with a 4.3 alpha one. I have a question about my trim. When there is about 5 people in the boat, I can ride whatever speed and rpm I want and the trim seems to work great. Once I hit 6 people, about 1000lbs, the boat will porpoise non stop with the trim down all the way. I can do 22 with it trimmed down and be fine, and I can run it at 4000 rpm about 35 and trim it out, but anything in between rides terribly. Is this just the way a smaller boat is loaded up with that much weight? Thanks.

It shouldn't do that. With the six people, you are pretty well loaded for that powerplant, but it shouldn't porpoise. Is that behavior when the bow seats are full or not?

I've had people move around the boat. More weight in the bow, less weight in the bow, go left, go right. The weight does not seem to make any change. Thanks.

Get a long plate to plate level. Place one end at the stern on the bottom of the boat and hold it tight to the bottom. You are looking for a rounding of the hull as opposed to a hook at the stern. The final four feet or so of a rinker is usually flat and should have a "fair and true arc" towards the bow.
