What is "AC Lighting - Rope Start"

Hi everybody. Could somebody please tell me what<br />"AC Lighting - Rope Start" means and what is for?<br />I just got an old motor from my grandfather that passed away and I don't know so much about motors.<br /><br />Many thanks for the help.<br />yours<br />Robin from Sweden :)

Hi Robin,<br />I think that AC lighting means that it will produce enough AC power to run your bow and stern lights, but it isn't rectified to DC to charge your batteries. Rope start means just that; you have to pull on the starter rope to get it started. With that in mind you don't need a battery anyway.<br />Hope this helps

thanks.there is a litle connection on the side of the motor with tree"male" "connectors" in a triagular form. This is cover with a rubber kind of lock...do you know what this can be?<br />It's Evindure from 1980 seven five hp?<br />Thanks for the help.

gas line hook up?<br /><br />Is there a hose attached to it? Where is the gas tank for the enigine?

GAS= gasoline? i that case, no, is not the gasoline connection, that one is in front or behind, depending where you are looking for. The gas connection is of tipe OMC one litle thing with a hole and one longer where you locked the conection.<br />The other one on the side that I don't know what is for is made for a "female" plug connection on a triangular shape and it has a rubber lock to protect it from water i guess...what can this be?
