I believe that she is asking about different hulls. Some are made for speed and some for stability, you need to be more specific to get a truly clear answer.

Sorry for all. My vocabulary is not good enough.<br />I try to explain more detail.<br /><br />I found some of my favorites boat in vendor's web site. Some are fall in "pleasure craft" catalogue, other are "speed boat". <br /><br />Some people tell me that "speed boat" is outboard engine, "pleasure craft" is inboard engine. I know that it is not true.<br /><br />Do any expert know that? Many thanks.

Speed boat is a boat that's designed to go fast. Pleasure craft is a larger, slower boat you put around in with grandma for the afternoon.

Thank you. In fact, I want a pleasure craft. In hongkong, each boat has a register number. The suffix of pleasure craft is '6' or '7'. The speed boat is '8'. However, my favorites is in pleasure craft catalogue. I worry it is a speed boat and there is some unknown limitation.<br />Its config are 24.5feet, 250HP (outboard).<br /><br />According to ZmOz, the different of them is only the speed, right ?

If I may explain on your behalf tengirl,<br /><br />Guys, tengirl is looking for something to cruise around in with 10 or 12 friends, I think she is getting confused between a speed boat and a cruiser. When tengirl types 'catalogue' I believe she means 'category'.<br /><br />Tengirl, a speed boat is usually used for skiing or wakeboarding and they are usually a low profile (low sides), when you sit in them you are close to the water, close enough to dangle you hand in the water. A cruiser is typically much bigger, even though it may be the same lengh as a speed boat, it will have much higher sides (gunwales - don't pronounce the 'W') and is usually wider than a speed boat BUT some cruisers go very fast - you could call these a speedboat also. What you are looking for is a cruiser - the bigger the better.<br /><br />Aldo
