What is the best prop for my boat

1989 citation 190 bow rider. Had the hub fail on my 19 p factory prop so I need a new one. Tried out a 17p last night and the boat immediately planes but lost 8mph in speed. I tube a lot and wakeboard on occasion but also like to cruise. Looking for some help on the right choice of prop. Is there an 18p? The engine is a 3.0l 140hp with a alpha one drive.

For the health of the motor it needs rev freely within its rpm range.
What was the wot rpm and gps seed? Before any prop changes we need to know how the setup performs.
If you don't want to lose any top end get yourself another 19"If we have your present numbers we can tell better what may work.
It may be possible a 18" 4 blade should give a strong hole shot,stay on plane easier sat reduced throttle,
​ feel smoother and respond better around the dock. It will cost a little top end.
