Just bought a project bass boat with a Suzuki 140 2 stroke and I am thinking about selling the engine. Engine is complete with all controls. Any ideas?

It all depends on appearance, how it runs, and your location. I would think around $2500 if its in good shape. You might want to leave it on the boat so potential buyers can give it a test run on the water.

Thanks! That was my first thought as far as pricing.boat1.jpg I have the entire boat up for sale for $2,250 right now. I was going to keep it but I am concerned with getting parts for the Suzuki if there is ever an issue. And part of the engine hits the transom when it if fully tilted down and has rubbed a 1/2" groove in the transom over time from steering left to right. I also can not find any information on the boat manufacturer. It is a Sebring and says it was manufactured in Cullman Alabama but other than that cant find any info on it.

That's a good price for that boat. I'm surprised guys aren't beating down your door to buy it.

There seems to be quite a few bass boats on the market here for that price or cheaper in the same condition but most have 75hp or 50 hp outboards. It needs new carpet, seats, electrical and I just cant seem to get the Suzuki running right. There is one cylinder giving me issues, motor idles fine for the first 10 seconds og high idle then dies or hiccups when it kicks down. When the plug wire to cylinder #4 is pulled it runs much better. Going to run a compression test now. If I can get this thing to run right I may just keep it and fix it.
