I wouldn't leave it in just on the chance I'd forget come next season. If it's milky you need to find a good mechanic to fix it for you (or do it yourself if you're up to it). Check with local boaters to see who they recommend as good, honest and trustworthy.

So I don't get charged too much, what is the average price for new seals? I think I did that not too long ago actually.

Probably cost you a couple hundred. I'd do it for you in exchange for a good home cooked meal, but I would likely screw it up real bad, no experience with I/O.. Sorry.

Does it make sense to have someone pressure test it for her first to eliminate the plug seals? Waaayyyy back in the day, when I was a wrench at a shop, we'd do that for free.
