I have a pair of 130's that I get an audible alarm with no indicators. Seems to take a few minutes and only past idle, when I return to idle it goes away. I have it narrowed down to one of the engines. I have disconnected the temp sensors and the oil levels are OK. Switched oil module. Indicators for level works fine at both tanks. I recently had to replace the remote pump. Any suggestions? Lots of hours on this motor

Re: Yama 130 Erroneous Alarm

1995's ...Digital Tachs with the 3 arrows indicating oil, temp, etc.....alarms sound, cut RPM's on both engines but no arrows are indicating. When I fired it up today, ran it down the canal at cruising, it alarmed in a 200 yards or so and then every time I ran it past idle...When out this weekend I had the same scenerio, stopped offshore, disconnected the battery to the engine in question and then after an hour or so ran back in 4000-4200 for a mile and then 19-2200 for a few miles and it sounded. Once it started, It sounded anytime I went past idle. Seems thermal related, but may just be a bad connection. Is anything tied to the alarm circuit other than the 2 temp sensors and the 2 oil floats? Thanks for the help

Re: Yama 130 Erroneous Alarm

hello
look to see if the gray wire at the 4 pin trim harness in the engine is connected.
then test the overheat alarms by grounding the pink wire while the key is on and watch the tach.
if its alarming it should give an indication.
you may wish to buy or borrow a temp gun to insure the engine temps are normal. when was the last oil filter change in the remote tanks?
good luck ands keep posting

Re: Yama 130 Erroneous Alarm

Both filters are new, Oil flow is good, Done the pink wire grounding, it was fine, will check the gray wire in the AM. I drained the main oil tank and noticed the foam seal was not in place and intact, so I removed the oil line to the pump and cleaned, reinstalled and bled the pump. Did not find any debris or obstruction.

Kitty Hawk, huh? Got a good friend up in that area at a reuinion. From Kinston originally, but in Lauderdale for years.

Quick response.
