My mechanic suggested I 'shock treat' with this additive, and then stay on a regular dosage of it hereafter. If there is a lot of gunk in the fuel tank, can this stuff cause the gunk to dissolve and then deposit downstream, say, in the carburetor? Something like this happened in one of my cars when I put a fuel system cleaning additive in the tank.
