To anyone willing to help out...I own a 1990 Yamie 250 2stroke and after working like a champ, ran into a lot of problems two weeks ago after finding out that the fuel tank had taken a lot of water while sitting for two months. I took out as much wates as I could, added dry gas to the tank and cleaned the separator and fuel filter. It ran fine for the most part on that tankful...stalling here and there and loosing power in high rpm's but I considered it pretty good for the conditions. I filled the tank again and ran it without a problem.....Now, when idling in the water, it seems like it misses, poofs smoke out of the exhaust and stalls. I tried adding carb/choke cleaner to the carbs but nothing. The interesting thing is that when out of the water, it sounds like knocking...but when I tilt the motor up, it revs up in the 1200rpm range...

From reading all the different takes on this I wonder if this is a air leak in the gas line (fuel filter in the line has air all the time) or dirty carbs in need of a rebuild. I've tried pumping gas with the bulb while motor is running but the bulb gets full of air. I wonder.....
