If anyone can help I have a 1989 Bayliner with a 1988 force 125HP outboard. The problem is the power tilt/trim will not go up or down. the motor sounds fine when you hit the switch but nothing moves, if I hold the switch and pull the outboard at the same time it will lift. I took the hydraulic lines off the valve body and capped them off the outboard slowly falls down. If anyone knows what to try first all help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 1988 force tilt/trim problems

If the cylinder is full of oil, no leaks at caps or fitting on top of cylinder, the cylinder piston is bypassing fluid, or the relief valve in the piston is bad/dirty.

Search Tilt/Trim problem 1988 125 Force by
poster Bry21317.
