I have a 1997 120 HP Force w/3 Jaw Reverse Clutch<br />keeps giving me problems, would like to know if I could switch to 6 jaw reverse by purchasing new clutch & reverse gear?
jumps out of gear, tried every thing else and adjusted properly, replaced clutch and gear 2 years ago, was fine till now, local marina tells me 3 jaw poor setup, but could not tell me for sure if 6 jaw would work
I have a 1996/97 12 with similar problem - 3 jaw clutch. Replaced Rev gear, clutch. It worked for a while - couple of trips. Still down. Dealer didn't have any ideas. I worked in marine industry for several years as a mechanic/service dept. manager. This is the first time I haven't been able to come up with a solution.
