Is there any ingenious way of lifting my inboard bowrider 16 ft. boat to clean the hull section resting on the bunks? ...or maybe a trick that I am not aware of where I don't need to lift the boat?

Try a scissor jack w/boards between the boat and frame at a rear corner of the boat and trailer frame. Jack the boat up, one bunk will be clear, the boat will be resting on the other bunk and front keel roller. That should give you enough clearance for brushes, etc.

This is how I lifted my boat when I was adjusting the bunks in/out and up/down. Worked like a charm.

Even if the jack slips and the boat falls, it's still sitting on the trailer.

The floor jack is the answer and if you don't have keel rollers to prop it on, make a stand out of concrete blocks or something to support the bow weight and then go to the stern and jack as Mark mentioned.

BE SURE AND LOOSEN THE WINCH CABLE ON THE BOW and the transom tiedowns.

Also I like to put a reasonably large piece of soft wood, or that and carpet or something to soften the stress on the jellcoat where you are jacking. Also, I try to jack under reinforced points....keel, transom to name a couple. If you know where the stringer runs (fore and aft) that would be another.

Mark
