First, don't touch the timing, and try not to adjust the idle rest-- until you have rebuilt the fuel pump,run a compression test, cleaned-out the fuel tanks and carb bowl,installed a new set of plugs, and decarbed it. These engines need frequent decarbing. The only adjustment that moves -out of adjustmebnt, is the idle roller at the carb anyway. Unless a previous owner futzed with i,it should be dead-on.<br />But the roller at the carb can loose it's adejustment at times due to vibration. I use a dab of "locktite" after setting it, so it doesn't move.<br />Here is a link to the Force manual. <br />Timing is 30DBTDC, or 32DBTDC on CDM ignition.

Yeah as you might remember I did all the above mentioned. New pump,carb rebuild,champion plugs from ngk? Did the compresion test seems with a cold engine it was 105 105 107. Done all the other tests and decarbed. My problem is she idles bad and stalls out way to much. Kinda has a knocking sound shimmy shake. I do not belive its from any bearings as the engine looks new. I did get her running better only a half turn out on the carb. But feel it could be the timing set from the dumb original dealer in AZ.

I did see a white mark close to 33degrees or 34? Is this to far advanced to run good? My clymers manual says to different settings for timing based on the engine year old prestolight or cdi?

anyone have the factory 96 75hp manual what does the timing degree say? There is a white mark at 33* and wondering if there have been adjustments during a dumb dealer service. BTT help

Take it to your local dealer for timing adjustment. You've had wayyy to much trouble on this particular motor. They can go through all the settings you've fiddled with and set them to specifications. My $.02 worth...
