I have a 91' Force 150 on a boat that I just bought. The other day, while doing maintanence, I was lowering the motor when it all of a sudden stopped. From then on, all I hear when I push the trim switch up or down is a "click" type noise coming from somewhere around the t&t assembly. It is not the battery, there are no signs of leakage, and the previous owner said in 10 years he never had one problem. This leads me to believe that it is an electrical problem or something. If anyone has any ideas all help would be greatly appreciated!

I would check the trim fluid and see if you have enough in it. Running dry could cause you to not work properly. Do not keep trying to trim up or down, if you do you could destroy the motor. Someone here could help you more! Welcome to the site!
oshi
You should be able to see a screw where you can turn and check the fluid in the reservior. If not, the screw will allow you to raise or lower by hand! ouch, not a 150 though!

Check your solenoids. Check to see if you are getting voltage to the trim motor when you hit the trim button. If no voltage to motor, then solenoids are bad, if voltage to motor, then motor is bad.

but is there a good chance that both solenoids would go at the same time? and after I had been raising and lowering the motor periodically for an hour or two, and then it quit all of a sudden - if it was the solenoids it would have to be both going bad at the same time b/c it will neither go up or down.
