Please forgive me but I'm new to boating I just picked up a 1990 Bayliner capri with a force 120 from my Brother-inlaw last week.

He told me that while trailering the boat the motor fell and looks like a brake/hydralic line came out of what I now know to be the Trim cylinder. From the looks of the line it still has a threaded fitting on the end that looks intact but the trim cylinder has a steel band around it look like a fitting broke off? Can this be fix or do I need to replace the entire unit?

If it can be repaired can you please explain how to remove the trim cylinder.

Thanks
Kevin

Re: Tilt/trim

trin0ble

I am not familiar with the force T&T system, but I'm sure others are. Possibly you could have someone extract the fitting that is broken off and salvage the cylinder. Hopefully other will have more info. Post a pic if you can..

Re: Tilt/trim

I'm thinking that any capable Machine shop could fix that right up. Might want to do some calling around and check. And yes, that looks like the bolts to take it off.

Re: Tilt/trim

I'm still looking for some help? tried to call a couple of shopes but they want take this week and I'm trying to get it fix so we can go away next weekend. Also I have a question on removing the trim cylinder. On one side I have a nut on the top of the trim cylinder and the bottom of cylinder going into a big metal housing I think this is part of the motor? this housing has a nut on the cylinder side too. Do I only need to remove these 2 nuts or do I have to remove the entire unit?

Thanks
Kevin
