I've got a blown head gasket, and I have removed all the bolts (3 broke of right at the bolt head) and I cant get the head to come off. This is a first for me, and I don't want to screw anything up by prying where I shouldn't etc. Any suggestions?????? Thanks Greg

sounds like there is some corrosion around the head have you ever heard uf an air hammer? this will knock the head loose or try bumping it with a rubber mallet or try prying if you can find a strong spot on the head. just dont go smashing it with a hammer! i know what you mean about the head gaskets in those forces mine went too!

Put some (6-8) headbolts back in and run 'um down 'til there about a 32nd of an inch from the head and spin the starter. The compression should pop it loose but the bolts will control how far it moves.

c/6

Hooty

Re: stuck head 89' Force 125

I'm trying everything suggested so far to no avail. The problem is I have 3 bolts broken off. They snaped right at the bolt head, so I have so after removing the head cover I have 3 broken bolts sticking 1/4 out the top of the head. I think the head is sticking on these (a lot of corrosion between the bolt and the bolt hole. I'm at a loss; I'm going to keep using heat and penetrating oil, but if anyone has any other ideas please let me know. Thanks again, Greg

Drill 'um about 80% through the head. Save a 1/4" or so to grab on to when you get the head off. You may not have to drill that much. All that needs drilling out is the corroded section.

c/6

Hooty
