i was talking to u about cylinder head gasket i took the boat in to marine shop they did a compression check to start 165 psi on all cylinders within small variance on a couple, but they noticed some water geting in to the cylinders, they said the head gasket was leaking but not into the cylinders, they removed exhaust cover and exhaust plate was uneven said it should be flat and gasket were not in very good shape, they think this is why water is in cylinders, does this make cents,i thought that was for exhaust only, how could water get in there, unless crack in cylinder, but wouldnt that show up in a compression check that isnt an area where water is circulating is it? 1997 force 120 hp

Re: tmd

Water circulates around the exhaust jacket to cool it. If no water was present in that area it would not take long to burn through.

As for the plate, when taken off they are always bent. This is normal and can be reused.

It is possible that you have blown the exhaust gaskets and that is where the water is getting in.

If the head gasket is leaking, it will allow water into the cyl's. It is pretty rare to blow the head gasket to the point that water enters each cyl.

Was there water in all the cyl's?

If so I would check your fuel for water.

TMD

165psi I great. But the water came from somewhere. You should really find out where.

TMD

Re: tmd

They might be refering to a reed block. There are no valves in your engine. Did you take it to a reputable dealer? or just someone that works on engines.

TMD
