I have a motor that is in good shape but appears to not be pumping fuel at all. I cleaned the carb up and it does start, but will only run a short while, until the bowl runs dry. If I keep pumping it up it seems to want to run fine.

I have ordered a new diaphragm for the pump, but would appreciate any other pointers on making sure I don't miss anything. I'd rather buy what it probably needs, rather than just keep going one item at a time.

Also I need sources for parts on this, I have had the local repair guy, well established marine repair facility, tell me "good luck" on parts. I am relatively certain this motor is early to mid 70's. As stated it is a Chrysler 10HP.

Regards, and thanks in advance.

Oh, before I forget. When I looked at the fuel pump, it seemed to me the check valves looked odd. That is they were installed in a way that I doubt whether they could actually close. Any info on this would be great.

Joe

Parts are readily available for your chrysler 10hp check iboats for the parts you need if they cant help you we can. As far as your check valves they are stainless reed valves and they should be centered over the hole and flat to the body if they arent they wont pump. good luck, bret

If you need further assistance please email me @ forcepower01@yahoo.com.
