I've been trying to sell my 1999 Triton TR-17 with a 120hp Force for about the last year with no luck. I'm down to asking $8900 and I owe $9300! Am I overpricing this? I checked NADA.com and a low retail price for this model is $9,500. Is a Force motor that bad? I've had great luck, its been a great motor. I just don't have time to use the boat.

Welcome to iboats.

The Force is not with you. ;) They had an iffy reputation when they were still being built (not all deserved). Now that they're not, they're an even tougher sell. :( Where are you at? Around here people are just getting interested. Now might be a good time to step-up your efforts. But for the most part, that price range ... people are looking for more modern technology.

I am located in San Antonio, TX. Not exactly bass boat heaven. Most people are looking for bay or ski boats.

They also have a case of Tim Taylor-itis, they want MORE POWER, or think they "need" it.

You might try online, then ebay, then try a very short consignment contract at a dealer, maybe in Houston?

I feel for you. I just checked a few that are for sale online. Price seems about right, but most that I found have bigger motors, not Force motors, and are probably in stronger markets.

I feel for you.
