1987 Force 125 (uhh)

Ok here is the problem. I go out and run I can run full throttle but as soon as I get it down to idle or wakeless speed im screwed. I can not sustain full throttle any more. I rebuilt the fuel pump. I did that becuase it would get up on plane and die. Now it drops 1000 rpm and then drags back up. I will be running at 4k and it will drop to about 2700, feels like Ive hit something and then it speeds back up. Help. I pulled the fuel line off the outgoing side of the pump it was flushing lots of gas. <br /><br />Any ideas would be greatly appriciated.<br /><br />Thanks<br />Zach

Sounds like the engine loses a cylinder. Change of plugs to start with. Do a spark check when it acts up. Compression check would also be in order.

Check all your electrical connections, esp all the wires that tie into the panel. We had a similar problem, ended up being a lose connection.

comp fine, electrical fine(choke works better now)but still have the same problem.<br /><br />I really think that it is the fuel delivery, I had the fuel pump rebilt but to no avail.<br /><br />when it starts to act up I can squeez the ball pump and it will go away.<br /><br />Anymore ideas??? thanks

Is the ball pump being sucked flat?<br /><br />Make sure tank vent is open.<br />Replace the entire fuel line, from the fuel pump to the tank.<br />Verify the fuel pump is working, be careful.<br />Check the float bowl in the carbs, clean it out, check/set the float position.

Check for krud in the vent hose. Plugged hose and it will starve the carb for fuel. I had a spider nest (small) in mine.
