Hey guys, this is bugging me and I thought maybe you could help.

I bought an aluminum boat back in April, the first one I've had in 11 years. The man that sold it to me said it was a TRAVELER made by ALUMACRAFT. It said traveler on the boat and alumacraft on the registration....so I asked no questions.

I got the boat registered and titled with no problems, but yesterday I thought that I would google the name to see what pics I could find of them on the internet....no luck.

To make a LONG story very short, I looked under the dash on the boat and it said that it was manufactured by ELDO CRAFT, in Smackover AR. The model number is TX-160, and the first three digits of the vin is SEA.(I thought maybe Sea nymph)But no luck there either.

I can't find anything on the internet about ELDO CRAFT, or the company, just some classified ads.

Do any of you guys know anything about these boats or where I could look? I just want to know about the history and possible problems with these boats.

Any help would be GREAT!! Thanks.
What is the Hull ID number? It is located on the stern of the boat.

There you go.
It is a Sea Nymph Eldo Craft.

Time to correct your registration papers.

Re: Boat information????

Thanks, but I'm still confused.....I thought Sea Nymph and Eldo Craft were two different companies....

Also, none of the pictures of Sea Nymphs that I looked at appeared to be the same as mine. My boat has sort of a v shaped front with a flat bottom, and the sea nymphs look more like a v hull. Also the boat has the name Traveler on the sides and the console, but I'm not having any luck finding an eldo craft traveler, or sea nymph traveler or a sea nymph eldo craft....I do know from the HIN that the boat is a 1986 model, and none of the 86 sea nymphs look like it.

Sorry to keep bugging you guys, but appreciate the imput, and I don't know where else to turn to.

Once again, thanks.

If the HID says "SEA" it is a Sea Nymph. Who actually made the hull is of no consequence.

The late 1980's was a time that many boat makers branched out and had numerous makers produce boats.

Actually, your boat LOOKS exactly like a Tracker TX-Series.

OH......I didn't know that, thanks! It's funny that you said it looked like a Tracker TX-Series, because on the little tag under the console it says: MODEL NUMBER: TX-160.

Thanks again. :D

Re: Boat information????

This was really helpful; I resently bought a 12 ft jon boat that was made in Smackover, AR by Eldo Craft Boat Company Inc. It's a model 1451C and seem to be a strudy little boat rated for a 10 HP outboard.
Any additional information anyone could share on it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

James

Re: Boat information????

If the Hull Identification Number on the boat is the same as the one on the registration, just forget about it. You don't need to do anything. The information on who made the boat is interesting, but not relevant to registration.

If the two numbers are different, though, you could have some sort of problem if you sell the boat. Probably not, since the new owner would just take the registration and transfer it. I don't know of any jurisdictions that insist on seeing the boat to change the registration.

One thing I know for sure, though: If you try to get the registration right and the numbers on the boat don't match your registration, you're in for a rocky ride.
