When I rebuilt my motor 1989 50 hp force model 507Y9B (large bore) They gave me a pack of four fuel pump diaphragms, do I use all four diaphragms? The old one was a lot thicker than just one of the new ones. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: 50 hp fuel pump

Greetings, and welcome to iboats.

I don't believe you have the proper kit, fabman.
There is only one thick, rubber gasket-like diaphram on that model (on most of them, as a MOF). There is the obligatory gasket too, but only one diaphram.
The check valves are button-like gizmos with flappers built in. They rarely fail, so dont bother replacing them if you can blow air thru them in one direction only....they are somewhat of a pain in the arse to change-out most of the time.

What you were given probably goes into a merc carb-mounted fuel pump, but i would have to see it to tell.
