Greetings. I have a 1988 Force 50 hp outboard. Since the motor got heavier over the years, I bought a used trim/tilt unit that has a two wire reverse rotation motor. The unit does work in both directions when I hook pos to green and neg to blue..it goes down. When I reverse that, it goes up..........but.... I can't get it wired now that it is installed. I need a diagram or something to show me where to properly the wires for up and down and the switch. I just bought a three position switch...I don't have a regular Force switch. Thanks so much. Be well. Jeffrey

Welcome to iboats, indiana.

If your motor doesn't have the wiring harness with the relays wired in, you are going to have to do a little creative wiring, or buy the wiring harness.

Best to pick up a Clymer Force repair manual, or borrow one from the library if available.
It has an excellent wiring diagram and write-up on pages 539-540.

Make sure your power source that feeds the relays is fused or circuit breaker protected.

You can get the relays at NAPA or Mercury.

You can buy a wiring harness from Mercury, part # 84-819514A7 $40

And 2 relays at $12 each. part # 87-819509T

Wiring harness and relay shown at the bottom of this picture.
