50hp Force wiring

I have a 87 force 50hp and controls from a 88force50 well apparently there was some differences bcuz the wiring dosent match up the 87 has slots for the ignition and generator wires and the 88 has 2 slots for magneto wires is there any way to make this work?<br /><br />i can post pics if neccacery

Hi Kat... What slots are you talking about?<br />Are you referring to the controls or the back of the ignition switch?<br /><br />List color of all wires, and labels on terminals.

ok.. the 88 the 87<br />Start - yellow start - yellow <br />tachometer - purlpe generator - purlpe <br />magneto - white tachometer - white<br />choke - green choke - green<br />heat - orange heat - orange<br />battery - red battery - red<br />magneto - blue igniton - blue<br />ground - black ground - black
