Re: HONDA DEALS??

If you are talking brand new then I have never seen anything very low.

The truth is that there really isn't that much money to be made for the dealer.

You are more likely to get a better deal if you go for something used. But then you really have to know your stuff!

Personally, I think you are better off making sure that you get an outboard with a warranty as Hondas break down too. Not to mention other potential problems like accidents. Just read the forums here and you'll see a lot of things that are really funny....when they happen to someone else
;)

Keep an eye on the iboats outboard sales page at BoatMotors.com. They usually have a few Hondas.

-bayman

I'm curious to know what horse power range you are considering...

Walt

To make an accurate comparison, I guess I'd also need to know what features you are considering? Long shaft vs. short shaft...or electric start vs. manual. There doesn't seem to be much difference in dealer's prices here in the Portland area from one identical model to the next. I suspect Honda may set a basement price and dealers are limited to how much of a discount they can offer. It would be to your advantage to find a new-previous years model. That would be your best bet. Also, the Seattle Boat Show is in full swing at this time (Jan. 11-23) Usually, this is the best time of year to shop. You may want to contact some Seattle area Honda dealers to see what they have in way of boat show specials.

Good luck...

Walt

Have you tried sales@leisurebytel.com? You will need a Canadian postal code to get an on-line quote but if you do get an on-line quote in Canadian dollars, then the dealer will call you on the phone and tell you what they have in stock both new and used. Then he will give you a quote in US dollars including shipping to US,import taxes if any, etc. They are about the best I have found for a new Honda 130. Currently they have no US dealers. :)
