Has anyone seen the latest design on Twisties? You know, the little 3 inch piece of wire covered in a piece of flat paper or plastic used to close bread and other bags?

I noticed the other day that a twistie I was using kept springing off the bag as I was twisting it. Close inspection showed that the darn twistie has NO WIRE inside! It's all plastic so it's sort of "springy" and tends to jumps out of your fingers.

Another incredibly simple product that was "improved" to the point of being almost useless.

How much money is being saved by not putting the wire in the twistie?

For years Mark, I've had my Wife save those little plastic tabs that you put over a twisted plastic bag. We have a little box in the silverware drawer full of tabs with all sizes of holes in them. Very easy to access when you need one for any kind of bag closure.

I haven't seen the plastic twist ties you are talking about but maybe it's a good thing we have a lifetime supply of the tabs if that's the way things are going.

There is no need for those danged things, anyway.

Grab the loose end of the bag/wrapper, give the rest of it a spin and tuck the twisted end under the bag. End of story.

OH and my new chevy has the fuel lines under the frame. If it was a 4x4 they would have been damaged by now!

something else that always bothers me, my 12 volt black and decker cordless drill..... it's backwards. Forward should be a press with the Right index finger, but on mine, that's reverse.

I've got a stink'n left handed drill.

hey here is something down a similar line, I will type exactly as it is written, the instructions on a small threading tool, ready: this machine is to make the new machine equal to the old machine by cutting off the spoke at due size nipper! hehe try to follow those instructions, made in China of course

Yes the twist ties... I use them to clean out the carbs on the outboard, There on the bread once.. when we bring it home, then the bag gets a spin and the extra pulled back over the loaf. How bout the tab on aluminum cans... don't know about where you are but the "part worth the most" has become so cheaply made It won't open the can. Nothin makes me as mad as trying to open a can of pop and the damn thing breaks in 1/2 at 1/4 open.

Yeah, but those can tabs carefully pulled off sure work great for picture frame hangers when you run out of wire. The hole is already there for the nail.

Twist ties = cleaners for windshield washer nozzles, double bent over they also work well for those tiny reset buttons hidden on the back of electronic devices

Stoopid designs? How 'bout GM's Northstar engine....dayum starter mounted inside the block between the V-banks. Nevermind the high-priced starter, but the labor will set ya back some bucks if it ever needs changed or worked on.

Between my two teenage boys and myself, a loaf of bread doesn't last more than a few hours. No need to twist tie or even wrap the bag under, it never gets a chance to go stale :D
