Hey Folks:

Moving time once again for me.... Question. I am in the Military and they are paying movers to move me. The movers come in and pack and load everthing on the truck. Do I tip them? and if so how much??

Thanks

T

many military moves here. got my final coming up in feb. best bet- on pack day, buy them lunch. if they brought lunch, then go with the tip. i'd say $10 per person.

Re: Movers and Tipping

My brother just built a new house, he's friends with the contractor, and he mentioned he was going to bring some beer at the end of day for the guys. He said, "that's great, but tell them that in the morning".... So he told the guys, you bust it during the day, a cooler of beer will be waiting for you at the end... He did this EVERY DAY while they built his house. It cost him maybe $10-15 a day extra to have his house built, ...and it payed off very well for him.

Re: Movers and Tipping

When I was moved I always tipped the movers $20-25 per person for loading out and moving in. I also usually got a case of beer for them after we were moved in. Funny thing is that I never got hit for any overweight charges when I did this and that was worth it. When I had made my last PCS I had a housefull of stuff and it would have been alot of $$$$ in overweight charges.

Bob - Retired Army
