I looked around the net and E-Bay, and most kits and clocks are too much for my budget. $100+ for some clocks? C'mon!

There are a few around $40 on E-Bay that I'm looking at.

Anyone have ideas or suggestions? Build your own maybe?

H.

Re: Tide Clocks

I have no clue as to how much they cost but I do know you can get watches cheaper than $40 that also show the tides. I would think you could find a clock that will do it for less.

Hey Homerr, I am even cheaper than that. :D
Get me a place next to the ocean and I will call you when the tides change. :)

Re: Tide Clocks

I picked up a battery powered tide clock with alarm - not a time clock but a proper tide clock - I think it is excellent, it can be set to alarm you at anytime of the tide.
It cost $25 at a local emporium that usually sells junk. I saw it one day and haven't looked back. It also folds up like a travelling clock of old.
Sorry it doesn't have a name or manufacture on it, but I can guarantee its accuracy for about a month before re-setting it!
Ross

Re: Tide Clocks

I have a bid on one on E-Bay. Looks like a good one. I'm too damn lazy to try and figure out the tides, so I might as well get a clock and toss it in the boat.
I like the 'in-dash' ones, but they are real proud of those. Beyond my budget, and I don't really have a place to mount it anyways.

I just can't believe the prices on some of them.
What are they...Made of Gold? It's a CLOCK!
So what ifn' it tells time (tide) a little differently.

Just like everything with a boat. Just cause it's for 'Marine' use, they jack the price up.
I can understand mechanical parts...They are made differently, but a clock...well..Nuff said.

H.

Re: Tide Clocks

I bought a real nice tide clock, set in dark oak, for $80 at The Bay Trading Company. Local store in Annapolis that specializes in nautical/Chesapeake Bay gifts. Maybe they have a website you can find. Good luck-
