Prop, speedo?

Hello, I have just bought a 1988 Celebrity 190v. It has a 5.0/ AlfaOne outdrive. I am currently running a 19" pitched tri blade Alum blade in fair to good condition. It was the first time out, I had 3 Adults and seemed to be running around 39-40mph according to the pressure type speedo. The rpms sounded to be running at top end, but rpm meter said around 4 grand, maybe a little over 4. I am new to I/O v8 motors. I would like to see the boat reach a higher speed but still want to be able to pull skiers. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to type and pitch, in a price that won't require me to take out a loan ;) ?
I have a 21" alum prop that came with the boat, but it is really beatup bad.

Re: Prop, speedo?

OK I did not see the prop info at the top of forum. Sorry. It answered most of my questions. Does any one know how much it costs to repair my 21" pitched prop? And how acurate is the pressure type speedos?

Pressure pitot type speedos are known to be inaccurate.
Your Major concern should not be MPH, but rather RPM.
If we're not in the correct range, nothing will work as it should.
The tach is the most important gauge in the boat...the speedo shows how well we set it up for top-end only.
Prop repair can range from 50-125 on an aluminum prop.
