Apollo or Rapture

I was thinking of buying an Apollo 13"x 21P or a Rapture 13 1/4 x 21P.<br /><br />Right now I have a Black Max 21P on a 90hp Mercury<br />running about 5400-5500 RPMs between 41 and 45 mph.<br /><br />Would I see any difference between these props(ie rpms change, speed and hole shot)?<br /><br />I don't think the Black Max has cupping.<br /><br />Thanks.

The Black Max should be cupped...not to the extent a good SS would be, but it is cupped.<br />I wish I could tell you which of the 2 props you list might be best, but I've just received the Large diameter Apollo for testing and haven't run it yet.<br />The Rapture is an all-around good prop, and should pose no problems...I wish I could tell you how the Apollo is going to react but I can't yet...Next weekend will be the first running of that prop for me.

I have tried both the Rapture, and the Apollo, both 21 pitch on my Glastron SX195 W/ a 5.0 220 HP Volvo GL. I ran about 55 W/ the Rapture, and could hit 57 W/ the Apollo. Both are vented and have good holeshot, the Apollo is a 14 3/4" dia. and the Rapture was a 14 1/4". I borrowed the Rapture, and bought the Apollo.

The 90 Merc is going to have to stay in the 13 1/4" diameter range. I know someone who tried a 21 Turbo and it was more than he could swing. If you're interested I can hook you up to see what he's going to do with it. Shoot me an email if you're interested dhadley50@aol.com.
