Hello all, I've just recently had problems with my motor not running on all cylinders. A mechanic I used told me it was the head gasket allowing water to get in, so I replaced it. Are there any other issues with a head gasket being blown, other than I may have a bad water pump. Where is the "pee hole" on this motor and how can I tell if the water pump is bad. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The pee hole didn't come about till come about till around 78'. What you will get is a misty spray from the exhaust relief holes at the top of the midsection. This spray will pick up a little when the t-stat opens. If your not sure about the pump, by all means change it out and install a new t-stat.

Did the engine overheat to cause the head gasket to blow?
