good spark, good compression, no go, could it be fuel delivery (carb, fuel pump, vent open on tank)? linc n sinc? very possible. see the post below ' need the linc n sinc by clams'
I have a problem something like this and i wanted to see if anyone could help. i have a Mariner 115 hp and it idols fine but won't plane out. i took off the carbs' and had them rebuild but still won't plane out, put in new plugs checked compression & all was okay. Someone told me that the high side of the stator might have gone out or a power pack since it runs so good at idol speedCylinder. 12, & 3 has a pack and 45, & 6 has one. While trying to plane out i even tried choking and it stalls it out so im' thinking its not a gas problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated since im' on vacation next week and i really need to get it running.

Exactly like an 80's model 90HP I worked on a few weeks ago. Started and idled great and had a nice initial surge of power, but once it got to 2000 or so it was like you hit a wall.
One set of stator windings was going and had hi resistance. Replaced the stator and she runs like a banshee!!

i rebuilt the carbs, new plugs,new fuel lines and clean the tank,still won't start
i am not getting spark on cly 2,4 and 6 can someome help please.wires are good.
