Ok, first of all, yes I am a newbie to this board. I am not an experienced outboard mechanic, but I am an experienced 2-cycle mechanic. I have been working on this outboard for a couple weeks now and have solved numerous problems. The one problem that is really stumping me is the Idle. Sometimes(very rarely) it will work just fine but most of the time it sputters and dies when put in gear. So far I have flushed out the entire fuel system with new gas/oil, new spark plugs, disassembled and cleaned carb(this looked immaculate), cleaned screen on starboard side of motor, checked pick up tubes in the tanks. Now, I am thinking about rebuilding the fuel pump or adjusting the fuel/air mix. Anyone got any thoughts on this. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Is there anything I may have overlooked? Please help me, It would really break my heart to put this thing in the shop. I pride myself on doing all my own work.d
