I purchased my first boat a used 1990 185. Wahoo with a Mariner 150believed( to be 1990 OC247247) after the completion of my third trip out with her I noticed oil dripping from under the cowl when raising up the motor. Further investigation revealed a cracked cap on the upper oil tank (cowl tank) only noticeable after the oil injection system has had time to fully pressurize. I replaced the cap wsensor/ and fired it up and let it idle for about 20 minutes which seemed to have corrected the leak. Just prior to heading out on my next trip I topped off the main tank (bottom tank) and when I started her up the oil alarm sounded off, I followed the instuctions on removing the caps to allow for air bleed off but that doesn't' seem to help. Oil does rise in both tanks enough to overflow. I was reading the forums regarding oil injection and someone said to fill the bottom tank to the fill line and not over it, I filled my bottom tank to the top. Could that be my problem?
