I have a 200HP Evinrude. I bought earmuffs today to flush out the motor. I noticed there was alot of water coming out of the earmuffs. There was a stream of water coming out of the motor but not like it is in the water, Is that natural and do you have to buy a certain kind. I paid 9.00 for mind at Boat US. thanks

One more thing, was the stream not coming out because I did not let it run long enough. How long should you let the motor run. thanks

Re: Motor Flushing

there will be a lot of water from the muffs, as it is pressurized, as long as you have water coming out the tail tale, is good, it will start out the prop when the thermostats open. do not rev above 1500 rpm, or you can damage the engine. don't leave it unattended, there have been many motors ruined , by going to get a beer and coming out to find the muff have fallen off.
