Folks,

I can't tell you all how happy I was yesterday, dropped the boat in Lake Tarpon for the first sea trial and motor breaking. Still have some work to go, but everything checked out fine!

She planed out very well, motor runs great, guages, fuel system all checked out fine. I am very pleased. Next will be a couple of more trials in the lake then into the salt water.

Thank you all very much!

Peace.

Re: IT FLOATS!

Congratulations (was there any question? that it would float?)

It looks great and is now probably safer and better construction then 90% of the other boats out there.

You should be proud.

JustMrWill,

Right not breaking, break in, I hope no breaking :)

Tashasdaddy,

That is a great idea, I almost lost it getting the hook off, good thing I can cut that out of the video :)

Thanks everyone. There will be a maiden voyage party in August, I will give exact date in the future, Anclote island will be the destination, about 3 miles off the end of Klosterman Road (Gluf of Mexico), in Palm Harbor, FL. All are invited to stop by.

Peace.

Re: IT FLOATS!

woosterken,

Just put Florida plate on it before the launch. That should give you some indication how long it has been sitting :) I moved down here permanently in June of last year.

Peace.

Sweet....Keep the motivation coming. Some of have a long way to go. Have you thought anymore about graphics or pin stripes? I remember that you mentioned it a few weeks ago.

Allright Ed!!!

Let me know when your maiden voyage celebration is. If I haven't gone to Bimini that weekend, I'll be there for sure.

Great work!!!

Re: IT FLOATS!

Nice work.

What I admire most about your build is that you didn't cut corners in the interest of rushing the project. Under the floor looks as good as the outside of the hull. You took your time and used the correct parts and I'm sure that meant stopping and waiting on occasion.

Maybe it's just my character flaw, but I am tempted (successfully at times) to cut an occasional corner. I always regret it, but I have yet to overcome the impulse completely. What I'd like to end up with is the kind of quality your build has but what I end up with is always something less.

I admire your slow-but-steady and methodical approach and envy the results.
