Stock Prop/ Pitch

Can anyone tell me what might have been the stock prop size and pitch that came with this boat?

1988 24.5ft. Thompson Carrerra
5.0L Mercruiser w/ Alpha One

A friend of might just bought this at an auction and has only run it on a hose and not in the water yet. I just noticed that the prop looked huge. I have a 25ft. boat with a 5.7L and an Alpha One and my prop looks nowhere close to that size.....

Don't confuse "looking huge" with pitch. It's probably using a prop with a lot of blade area to help push the boat. It's very borderline underpowered so it probably needs all the "push" it can get.

If I had that here at My altitude, it would never plane out.
Dhadley is smack on, as usual. that boats needs the large blade area. I bet that engine gets quite a work-out.

I actually talked to merc and crownline today about my 5.0L 220hp alpha 1. I was told by crownline and merc that a 14 1/2 X19 prop is perfect for that engine. Look in the manual or on the engine for the WOT rpm then do a water test. Make sure its w/in limits. Prop size also depends on several things, one being boat size.

A 14X19 what???
typical dealer talk when comparing props....
There are some props in 19P that perform like a higher quality 17P. Unless a specific Model is mentioned, ya better ask which one...
