Re: NASCAR

"that mofo sho can drive"

Yup!! And like I said, I love his antics. We need more like him. The thing I don't understand is NASCAR trying to stop all of the really fun stuff. Remember Harvick at Bristol, Jimmy Spencer punching Kurt Bush? They get tons more press when Gordon spins Kenseth to win, and Edwards dumps Tony on pit road, than they do if a race goes green the whole way. I say give 'em bigger bumpers and boxing gloves and let's rock on . . . :^

I can't wait for Bristol!!! Yeah baby, Yeah! 8)

Hmmm, one lap penalty for spinning someone out? Maybe the other boys should take turns and spin ole Smoke out every race ... o:)

Now you're talkin.

I like that idea.

I never said he couldn't drive. He can drive. But T.O. can play catch pretty good too. Doesn't mean I like him either. Or that their words/actions help anyone but themselves.

Just because of Tony Stewart, I will only shop at Home Depot right now, because Lowes is an hour drive. Once the new Lowes is built here in town, goodbye Home Depot.

Re: NASCAR

I think NASCAR should start a new series. NEXTEL cup and BUSH are way too fast and therefore dangerous for the Tonys and the grudge matches at 200MPH. Besides, placing a Dale SR or Stewart in amoungst a pack of 30 cllean driving competitors, someone will die needlessly someday -- Oh that's right...Someone allready has. But better late than never.

I'd like to see Tony banned for "unsportsman-like behavior" and "reckless endangerment". But open a new series called " stock car demolition" , or "Stock car durration" series, and let the pig-drivers pack-up, use battleship plate for floorboards, and rip-n-tear...If it's blood you want, then have it set away from a once proud and clean sport before the pig herders ruin what remains.
And I'm proud to be a redneck.

Are you serious? Stock car arcing has always involved dirty tricks. I say this not only as someone who watches NASCAR but as a former competitor. I've had the wrecker load my car many nights due to someones elses actions. The next week you can bet that they used the wrecker. If not mistaken JB use to do a little driving hisself, maybe at the old Grand Prarie sppedway. Maybe he can enlighten some of the "newer" fans to the sport. You can bet that pretty boy Jeff Gordon will never have the following that Dale Sr. or Tony has.

Re: NASCAR

Well, I know you're right on about the historic pressence of the pig herders. They make their appearances at local dirt tracks in Anytown USA every Saturday night. I used to race MX back in the day,and knew all the tricks. I pitted for my brother, and even drove several of his heats. I also pitted/spotted for my nephew. Both were local stock car racers, who knew how to get thru tech inspections.I'll say no more about that :)

But (you saw that comming), 90MPH on a 1/10mile short track is a far cry from any NASCAR venue including Bristol... Not quite as dangerous, but with much better local officiating. And even at the local short track SARRA races, the officials do not suffer pig herders for long, before they are sent to the rear, black-flagged, or banned. In contrast, what does it take to get ol Tony "turnem" Stewart to get sent to the back of the pack for dirty deads done dirt cheap (and at the expense of Home Depot)?
Yet, for some reason, pig drivers are all but given carte blanche on even the fastest tracks. They become celebs for their efforts. IMHO, that's "just not racing". It's WWF on wheels. And you can have it.
My sugestion was to remove the pig herders and give them a "trough" of their own to wallow in. They could sell lots of tickets, and in that venue, maybe even a few to me. To everything, there is a season. Let there be a "pig season", and get these dangerous cheaters off the high-speed NEXTEL and BUSH courses.

I knida agree 12footer, but then again I don't. Every time he acts a fool the camaras are on him. Home Depot is happy about that. They may act like they are upset but inside their beaming.

90 mph on a 1/10 mile short track in a $99 firesuit, 5 yo helmet, and in a cage that was welded up by your sisters boyfriend cuz he took shop before he quit high school on a wet clay track with tractor tires and concrete/steel railing and fire protection by Goobers Vol fire dept and his 1972 International 3/4 pick'em up truck VS state of the art communications, the best safety gear known to man, chrome-moly tubing heliarced by x ray welders, and the safety barrier wall with an entire professional firefighting team, medics, and ambulances. Kinda makes ya say hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........

Re: NASCAR

Tony Stewart gets run into the wall and pushes back. Yeah, it's bad that Edwards got caught up in it but that's how it goes. It happens all the time. I would rather see Stewart retaliate against some bonehead that drove into the corner too hard than Jeff Gordon spin someone out because he cant drive well enough to pass them clean. And as it was pointed out, he took his on track penalty and then came back to finish top ten. I'm not a Tony Stewart fan but it is refreshing to see someone like him is still in the game. Reminds me of Dale Sr, Rusty Wallace, and all the guys from back when I started watching. Retaliation for stupid driving has always been a part of the sport.

C'mon, whip out those old tapes from the 80's with Geof (sorry, Geoffery) Bodine, Rusty, Big E, Rudd, Neil Bonnett and the Allison's pushing each other out of the way at every race and see how it should be. You guys are getting too sissified!! What you're watching isn't NASCAR it's the IROC version of NA$$CAR. As I said earlier, way too PC!!

Yeah...but the fact that Stewart was run up high was not done on purpose...it was a "racin' deal". The fact that he flipped off Bowyer AND THEN proceeded to ram him into Edwards was, IMHO, a babyish temper tantrum...nothing more, nothing less. He wrecked three good race cars in that braindead move. He just happened to be able to survive the rest of the race without as much damage as the others involved.
He want everyone to "give and take"...as long as he doesn't have to "give"...just "take".

Re: NASCAR

The problem is that Tony was preaching about everybody else, starting at Daytona, then he goes against what he was preaching. If he hadn't been whining all year, I would just chalk it up to good old hard racing and banging, then sit back and enjoy the drama while it plays out.

If he's going to drive that way, he should just be quiet about how the "new" guys drive. It's all entertaining and you know NASCAR has to pretend that they don't like it.
