86 johnson 90 hp VRO

does anyone know where I can find oversized pistons and rings for my 86' 90hp Johnson VRO? I only see them up to 75 hp on this site. any input is appreciated.

They have the Sierra pistons which go to .030. Wiseco goes to .064 over. What oversize do you need?

forgive me for not being specific. I know I have a scored cylinder but I do not know how bad it is yet because I havnt had a chance to look at it. I'm stuck outside the US for about another month.

I am planning to rebuild the motor when I get back, and I'm trying to figure out how much the parts are going to cost. So far I've been able to find most things (bearings seals ect.) pretty easily. but I dont know what the oem part number for the original piston is so at this point I've hit a wall.

If you're just looking for the OE part number for comparison use 396588. That is for the OMC / BRP .030 oversize piston with the rings. Once you convert that to Wiseco or Sierra you'll get the pricing.

The iboats site does have some unexplainable limitations regarding parts, when in fact they carry the full range of parts. I suggest you call the 800 number if you aren't finding what you need. Another suggestion is to go to NAPA and ask for their marine products catalog. You can find part numbers galore in there, and key them directly into the iboats site, and the parts will show.

The Bombardier supercession part number is 5006669. .030 over piston with matching rings-about $ 90.
