I have a 17' Boston Whaler Montauk and I need a storage shed for it. I would like to get something more permanent like aluminum. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The aluminum work great for me. This one is 18X60. I'm in the process right now of pouring a slab in it.

thats not a shed. it's going to be a warehouse. what i have done several times, call around to the truss manufacturers (roof). a lot of times the have some "goofs" laying around and are willing to sell cheap. then just use 4x4's for post with 2x6 or 2x8 headers, depending on 4x4 spacing. plywood the roof, add shingles. you can then later add walls.

Go to costco and buy one of their portable vehicle shelters. The 10' X 20' model sells for just over $200 here in Canada. You could probably buy them for less down there. It has a powder coated steel frame and a heavy tarp material for the sides, walls and door. Its nice because it keeps the boat dry, but the material lets light through so you can still see inside the shed. At first I was skeptical about how well it would hold up, but I have had the first one for 3 years and it still looks almost new. We even set one up on our dock last year for a simple boathouse. You can't build anything as good as these shelters for the money.

That's no shed, this is a shed !

When I was young the fish were so big we had to fish from shore with a tow truck line.
