Well, here she is. May not be the prettyest thing on the water, but it runs! Stage one of 'Project Lazarus' was function over form. Get her running and all systems operating . Stage two will be a long slow process of 'beautification'. That list includes:
-new headliner on hard top
-re-finish wood on bow
-new trim/bumper pad upholstery
-re-upholster seats & engine cover
-lose the rest of the 'afro-turf'
(No, the new stuff will NOT be 70's butt-ugly Orange! lol)
etc, etc, ad nausium.">

I'm not interested in impressing other people with how it looks. I want a functional boat for spending quality time with the family. All the 'cosmetic' work will be done properly as time and $$$ allow, but it's not a priority.

If you remove the hardtop only, the boat will look real good, I think the orange seats are quite funky ......... it is something different

i like it , from the side the reminds me of the "little nash rambler" beep,beep. agree with D J C loose the top,(looks like a couple of screws) and add a bimini. looks like it will take some rough water.

I love that hard top! Cleanup the inside and just glue on some vinyl and you are set. I like the way it looks. Is it an OEM option?

The seats need to be burned. Or complement them with some equally ugly avocado colored carpet and accessories.

That is a beautiful boat! I love the hardtop myself, in the Pacific Northwest that is nice to have for rain protection. That is going to be awsome when you get done. I'm thinking if you're prone to sea sickness that orange interior may tend to bring it on! :^

I hummed and hawed about removing the hardtop, but decided to leave it on for now as we are in the land of 'Liquid Sunshine' 8) And so far it has taken a 3' chop quite nicely! Looooong time to get on plane and LOTS of bow rise (thinking about smart-tabs) but otherwise nice ride.

mark42- from what I was told, the boat came new in '75 with the hardtop. Possibly dealer installed? Not sure.

BTW: anyone wanna see some engine pics? It ain't pretty, but it's solid and runs well. (No, its' NOT ORANGE! LOL)

Maybe I'll upgrade to a classier color. How about 'Harvest Gold'? LMAO! d

Leave the orange seats in and do the engine cover in avacodo, it really is a cool looking boat though. 8)

I think you should embrace the retro look, the blue engine paint and orange seats are hot! Maybe some marine shag carpet too!

That is a cool looking old boat. The hardtop is probably good where you are, here in Florida, it would only function as a sweat lodge or human roasting device! The vinyl looks to be in good shape; I've seen some vinyl dye jobs that came out looking nice.

Actually I was thinking of painting the engine this winter same as the t-stat housing I did. Old ford blue I think. Any idea where I could get new decals for the valve covers?

Mark-how'd you know! I keep my polyester liesure suit stored up ther too. Didn't show it because it clashes with the orange and I was afraid it might look tacky.8)

Actaully the cushions up there are a wonderful orange & brown striped pattern that really compliments the seats!

The decals you can get made at any sign shop, the seats are awesome ... always good to be different, with the hard top off the boat will look much sporty -er, if you scared of the rain and sun, install a bimini top, they look great .....
