hey guys, I have been reading the posts about the smart tabs and am convinced they will definatly help my situation, I have a 14ft f/g boat with a 75 merc 650, 65hp, right now I can go about 30mph with 2 ppl on board and full fuel although its a little unstable sometimes it leans to one side or the other and when ppl move around you can really noticed it, and also when I go tubing with 2 ppl in the boat and 1 on the tube I can definatly feel the drag and it takes much longer to plane, anyways I have taken some pics of my boat/transom to make sure before I order them that it will be a straight forward and easy install and to get any comments if they will be appropriate for my boat thanks guys, I plan on getting a trolling motor in the future also so I am not sure if smart tabs are appropriate thanks guys website is

The link to your pics doesn't work, but the smart tabs should compliment just about any boat.

I can see your pictures fine too. I recomend Smart Tabs to everyone who asks. They really helped my 17' in a number of ways. My boat planes faster now, and I completely eliminated a list to one side. They are an easy install, and I don't see how they would interfeer with a future trolling motor.

My view is only as an end user. There's a guy around here somewhere that's the local expert. I'm sure he'll pop on here and give you all of the facts....

Iam pretty much sold on them, I just want to make sure they are going to be a basic easy install, I don't feel like messing around spending/missing a whole weekend of boating, I would like to be able to install and wait a day at most for whatever needs to dry if anything, I can always wait until the end of summer, but from what I have read it will help extremely with all the "flaws" of my boat LOL

They may or may not be in the way depending on how you mount the motor. If it is on a bracket, no problem. If it is on the transom then you may still be able to install them by moving the trim pin on the motor out one of two holes.

We also have a product called ProTroller which allow you to use the trim tabs as trolling brakes. go to our website www.NauticusInc.com you would not need the trolling motor.

i want the trolling motor regardless for the purpose of having a backup motor just in case my big one breaks down, if they won't fit with my motor are they returnable?

If you can not use the tabs we would accept a return, but let me give you the dementsions so that you can be sure before you purchase them.

The distance from the bottom of the transom back to the trailing edge of the plate is 9". When the kicker motor is down in the running position you will need the 9" clearance.
