Mercruiser 4.3 MPI No Starter action

Made a mistake yesterday, let my son hook up battery cables, he reversed positive/negative.

Put cables as should be, everything (blower, bilge, radio, etc.) works, EXCEPT for starter and fuel pump.

Is there a fusable link or something that has been blown?
Help please,

Got a SN for the 4.3MPI? Years don't help much since every thing from Mercruiser goes by serial number not year once you pass 1998.

There may be a circuit breaker on the engine somewhere. Check to see if it is tripped.

I finally was able to get the SN for the engine in the boat, it is 0M356075. MerCrusier MCM 4.3L MPI.

Did you look around on top of the engine for a circuit breaker? Should be a round red button with a 50 on it.
Don't just check to see if it's popped, make sure you have voltage on both terminals using a voltmeter or test light.

I will check this later today. What would be the next step?

12.7 V at battery.
The breaker is not tripped.
No voltage on either side of breaker.
No voltage on any post of "Starter Slave Solenoid".

Look down on your starter. There is a square fuse block that MAY have the wiring for your engine coming off of it.
The fuse looks like this.

I think I'll have to find a real monkey to get upside down in the engine compartment to get to it, as you can't even see the starter.
